The Kansas Food Policy Council
Mission and Vision
The Kansas Food Policy Council (KSFPC) is a statewide coalition committed to coordination, education and action to strengthen our state’s food system. We envision a healthy, accessible, resilient, and diversified food system for all Kansans.
Background
The initiation of the KSFPC was funded through the USDA Regional Food Systems Partnership Grant awarded to Kansas State University and sub awarded to the Kansas Food Action Network. In June of 2024, the Kansas Food Action Network convened the KSFPC formation committee including 19 representatives from across all sectors of the food system. Since that time, the KS FPC has been focused on establishing the Council and creating Operating Guidelines to shape their work together.
The council will officially launch July 1, 2025. The Kansas Food Action Network will provide ongoing administrative support for the KSFPC.
