It all begins with communities.

Food policy councils (FPCs) bring together stakeholders from diverse food-related sectors (i.e. farmers, chefs, grocers, food pantry operators, etc.) to examine how the food system is operating and provide local policymakers with recommendations for improvement. FPCs across Kansas advocate for policies that address food insecurity in their communities, support small food-based businesses, and encourage school and community gardens.

The Kansas Food Action Network provides technical assistance, coaching, peer-to-peer learning and networking opportunities to support growth and development of food system leadership in Kansas.
